The Step-Direction Controller uses two separate processors (CPU1 and CPU2), each requiring its own firmware file. Both files must be flashed using Texas Instruments UniFlash 9.5.0.
The SiTech Step-Direction Controller is designed for telescope mounts that use stepper motors driven by an external step/direction signal. It interfaces with SiTechExe goto software to provide full computerized control, including slewing, tracking, and pointing correction. Configuration is handled through the companion StepDirConfig utility.
If you are unsure which firmware version you are running, connect to the controller and check the version string in StepDirConfig. Always flash both CPU1 and CPU2 when updating — using mismatched firmware versions between the two processors may cause unpredictable behavior.
